Review: Cherish (feat. Sean Paul) - Do It To It18 September, 2006 — Stuart Brown

Sister act Cherish are trying their luck at chart success with the simply-written 'Do It To It', featuring Sean Paul of the Youngbloodz, for the name rather than any particular lyrical talent.

cherish sean paul do it to it

Should you doubt Cherish's R&B credentials, a simple listening of the track will calm your fears - they pronounce 'ask' as 'ax', which is a sure sign of authentic R&B. Anyway, the lyrics offer little beyond the 'Do it' refrain - the lyrical passage with Sean Paul is accomplished, but the female vocal part is done with far less aplomb.

More likely successful on the gimmick front than any other (the charts love a sibling-combo, and 4 is hard to beat!), the production is sub-par, as with the singing. Lyrics are amusing at first, but quickly come to grate. I don't think we'll see too much in the way of chart success for these 4 - although perhaps one of the more talented sisters might break free and vie for that solo career?

Overall summary

Gimmicky but ultimately poor R&B effort.
