Review: Craig David - Let's Dance (Hot Stuff)13 November, 2007 — Kate Ingham

Craig David Hot Stuff (Let's Dance)

Craig David seems to have succumbed to one of the most pernicious diseases going around the music world at the moment: Jossstone-itis.

This disease seems to be rife amongst young Brits in the music industry who go to America and upon their return have turned into totally different people. The symptoms however can vary. Although the former Artful Dodger vocalist has not returned with a stupid hairdo and a wardrobe that would make a Dutch hooker blush, he has returned as a bland, Americanised r'n'b crooner with a boring, pointless song about the "Laydeez".

The high point of this song is the David Bowie sample but that's not really a good thing. Although the song is not as offensive as much of the guff in the charts at the moment, it just saunters along aimlessly not doing much at all. It's quite sad in a way as I used to really like the guy. Don't go to America kids.

Overall
