Review: David Guetta Vs The Egg - Love Don't Let Me Go22 August, 2006 — Stuart Brown

The French are known for their quirkiness, and David Guetta is no exception. His quirky brand of dance music has proven very popular for TV adverts (Think Citroen) - but how does the single stand up on its own?

david guetta vs the egg love don't let me go cover

Not very well, I'd say. OK, so the riff is catchy and superbly funky, but that's all there is too this song. Ever notice how the riff is the only part of the song that ever gets played? In a 30-second advert, you can get away with looping the good bit over and over. But in a 3 minute song? It does go on a bit.

There is more to the song than just the riff, but it's abominable - dodgy lyrics which make no sense and sub par singing. The juxtaposition between the bland Eurostyle verses and the riff grates, as well. In short, it's awful. Don't buy it.
