Review: Linkin Park - Bleed It Out13 September, 2007 — Kate Ingham

Warner Bros. Records

Linkin Park Bleed It Out

Ah, Linkin Park. All those years ago when they released "One Step Closer", I laughed out loud and said that they wouldn't last a year. How wrong I was!

"Bleed it out" is manic but unlike "What I've done" the production is minimal (they've even got handclaps in there which is impressive) and is led by Mike Shinoda's tight rapping, with Chester Bennington screaming out the choruses. The lyrics still remain miserable and melodramic though and will probably appeal to the emo kids who are waiting for the new My Chemical Romance single to hit the shops.

To sum up, this certainly isn't Linkin Park's finest offering and lacks that certain something compared to some of their other singles such as "Somewhere I belong" or "In the end" but I'd rather listen to this over most of the dross currently residing in the Top 40.

Overall

What next?More by Linkin Park? More reviews? More alternative, or metal, or rapcore?
