Review: Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat10 August, 2007 — Hazel Gardner

robyn with kleerup with every heartbeat

After a long while with little air-play, Swedish singer Robyn has made a comeback with 'With Every Heatbeat', a dance record that even non-dance fans will like.

'With Every Heartbeat' is a very club-friendly song, whilst also being a pretty ballad and appealing to people (like me) who want to vomit at the sound of most dance music.

Robyn's vocals have an ethereal Kate Bush-style quality to them, and her shimmering voice makes this song quite beautiful. It is somewhat unusual and chart-friendly at the same time, charting, in fact, at number 5 this week (a top-5 first for Robyn).

Overall, this is a pleasant, unusual record, with shining vocals and a mature sound.

What next?More by Robyn? More reviews? More pop, or dance, or europop?
