Whilst this is indeed a jolly, upbeat, chart-worthy song there is one tiny problem- it is someone else's song. The Scissor Sisters are friends with Elton John, so presumably he has given his blessing for this rip-off of 'I'm Still Standing'.
If this was a subtle homage I'd be all for it, but unfortunately after only a few seconds of listening to Jake Shears' voice i can't think of anything but the Elton song.
It's very disappointing- the Scissor Sisters showed they were still at the top of their game with 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing', but since then we've had the inoffensive (but nothing special) 'Land of A Thousand Words' and now a track that might as well be a cover version. One can only hope that the next release from this usually flawless band is a pop classic of the calibre we've become accustomed to.
