Take That Rule The World

Even if you're not a Take That fan you've got to admit that they've done amzingly well for themselves. Their comeback has been nothing short of miraculous, playing to sold-out stadiums, getting number-one after number one and even better, making Robbie Williams look like a bit of a twat for refusing to join them.

I've got to admit, their previous single I'd wait for life wasn't too impressive compared with the glossy pop stomper that was Shine so I was hoping that their newest offering would bring them back to the fold. We can rule the world is the theme from the movie Stardust and this tune is pretty darn good. It has all the components of a good boyband tune - twinkly piano, rising choruses, swelling strings - and yet it still sounds fresh and original. If they released it a few weeks later it would have had a good chance of getting the Christmas NUmber One spot.

It seems to be on the radio all the time at the moment so we'll all probably be sick of it soon, but for the moment it's a great song by a great group. Westlife take notes.
