The White Stripes You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told)

After the news that Jack and Meg have pulled their UK tours, there are going to be a lot of pissed off White Stripe fans that are going to need placating. Will new single You don't know what love is (you just do as you're told) do the job?

You don't know what love is... is definitely an improvement on the forced bizzareness and pseudo-politics that we saw with Icky Thump. A simple country-flavoured stomper which wouldn't have sounded out of place on an earlier White Stripes album. Sure, it's no Seven Nation Army and will probably slip out of the top forty in a couple of weeks, but you'll be strumming your air guitar with glee when you hear this on the radio.

Overall

What next?More by The White Stripes? More reviews? More rock?
