Voxtrot - Firecracker

Indie rock Texans Voxtrot are supporting the Arctic Monkeys in their US tour later this year - but if this single is anything to go by, the roles should be swapped.

The song starts sharply and rises to the glorious crescendo of the chorus - presumably the 'firecracker' in question is an ill-tempered woman - and seamlessly crosses from well-formed verse back to the chorus. It's only 3'43" but it packs a hell of a punch.

American Indie rock at its finest. Unpretentious, gratuitous and inherently listenable.

Overall

What next?More by Voxtrot? More reviews? More indie, or rock?
